Estate litigation involves suits related to probate, such as will contests, suits against Executors, or life insurance claims. Trust litigation involves suits against trustees for removal or accountings and can also be a trust contest to set aside the trust agreement.

To decide who will join the 2024 Texas Super Lawyers® list, the process involves selecting attorneys using a “patented multiphase selection process combining peer nominations and evaluations with independent research,” and that “each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement.” Selections are made on an annual, state-by-state basis. According to Super Lawyers, their objective is to create a credible, comprehensive, and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource for attorneys and consumers searching for legal counsel. This is the 8th year Ms. Baxter-Thompson has been recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer. She was previously selected to Rising Stars from 2012 – 2015.
