In 2016, the Dallas County Probate Courts were “temporarily” moved from the Records Building to the Renaissance Tower in order to commence the Dallas County Records Building renovation project. The renovation aimed to modernize the historic complex, which comprises three interconnected buildings constructed in 1915, 1928, and 1955. The project was completed in 2022, transforming the aging structures into a unified, efficient workspace while preserving their historical significance.

In January 2025, the Dallas County Probate Courts were permanently relocated from the Renaissance Tower to the George Allen Courts Building. The Probate Courts are now housed on the 7th Floor of the George Allen Courts Building, located at 600 Commerce Street, Dallas, TX 75202. This move consolidates probate services into a central location, aiming to enhance accessibility and efficiency for the public.
